Although Mother Nature wasn’t on our side, the teams persevered through the rain and built some excellent furniture. We thank all the staff, volunteers and especially the teams for braving the fall-like weather. There were five teams in total, but only one winner! The Snapdragons won the event with their beautiful planters and wooden flower cutouts. The Hamilton Firefighters built a Muskoka chair (with a nice flame detail on the back) and a foot stool outfitted with a smoke detector to save your tootsies from the campfire. The Hamilton Police also built a Muskoka chair that hugs you tightly when you sit. Kids were the focus of the Threshold team’s project – they showed off their skills with a kids’ picnic table and paired it with a bench and chair. Virgin Mobile & Albanese Landscaping clearly went over the top with their custom Douglas Fir farm table complete with benches and inset cooler.
All the items are available for purchase. Please contact Threshold School for more information on pricing.
